Classic features of intravascular hemolysis such as

hemoglobinemia, hemoglobinuria, or

hemosiderinuria do not occur in hereditary

spherocytosis. The hemolysis seen in hereditary

spherocytosis is an extravascular rather than an

intravascular process.
